Counting my blessings.

I was going to do a gratitude entry everyday of November but my Blogger app had issues. Now they have updated and repaired it so now I can put all of it in one entry.  Here is one for everyday of the month of November, in no particular order.

#1 for a little boy who loves to help.

#2 the love Jer Cub has for reading.

#3 family so close by.

#4 My little guy's sense of humor

#5 The 2 men of my life.

#6 Music

#7 A little guy who loves to clean

#8 A nice warm home

#9 The love and companionship our dog Toby and Jer Cub share.

#10 The United States of America

#11 The Constitution of this great nation which was founded by men of faith.

#12 Technology that makes our lives much simpler

#13 The Gospel of Jesus Christ and the peace and understand it can bring in even the most tumultuous times.

#14 Being sealed to my family for the rest of eternity, knowing that families really can be together forever.

#15 A husband that works so hard, and at jobs he doesn't really enjoy, because he is a true man who takes care of the family he loves.

#16 Pittsburgh. In case someone reading this has not been there I will explain... I served an 18 month mission there and I have never felt such love for so many people I did not even know. It will always be a "magical" place for me where I met life long friends.

#17 The small town I grew up in, and where I would like to raise my children.

#18 Being able attend college. Not only was able to go to school but I was able to finish in a great program, one I have a Passion for.

#19 The many animals we have, because they bring even more love to our home.

#20 An extended family which is full of supporters and friends.

#21 Being married to the love of my life. The man who is my opposite in so many ways. He is my equalizer. To have someone who is a great person and humble at the same time. He is the greatest blessings in my life, because from him I have been given most of the things I am grateful for. My life would not be the same without him.

#22 Medical advancements. Within our extended families we have had very intimate experiences with the blessings modern medicine has been. Even in the last year our little boy has had a few procedures that have greatly improved his life without long lasting draw backs.

#23 The blessings of paying a full tithe back to Godfather church.

#24 To have a Passion for something. My passions are for my husband, son, our animals, and for memories and preserving.them, whether in photography or video.

#25 Having animals which add to our self sufficiency. Gathering eggs and doing chores with our little man has been fun and besides that is teaching him how fulfilling the needs of another can fulfill our needs as well.

#26 Being raised in a home with both parents. This has been one of the bigger blessings in my life that I did not appreciate while I was growing up, but now I am especially appreciative of.

#27 Having a mom who was home when I came home from school. Someone I could call from school if I was sick. A mom who fulfilled her calling as a mother.

#28 Goodness of people. I have a faith in the power of an.individual making a tremendous difference in this world. I have witnessed time and time again how people have given of themselves and others have benefited.

#29 Black Friday. It is so much. The best part is the comradery felt between the shoppers, at least in my experience.

#30 One of the greatest blessings in my life has been the hardships. It sounds strange but I feel very grateful for the difficult times in my life which have made me a stronger woman in the end. I had parents who gave me enough freedom to learn to deal with problems, which helped develop a stronger sense of self assurance and self esteem. Our difficulties help us to figure out who we really are, and to become more rounded individuals.

One mom's trash...

This last week I have tried to prepare for the upcoming Christmas gifts by clearing out things we don't need. I found my first roller blades and I was very torn whether to keep them so put them in the donation pile. The next morning little man found them and decided they were pretty awesome toys. He would put things in them and roll them around the house using them as a train. In this picture daddy was showing him how to balance in them. They are best pals and it is so fun to watch them play.

Prayers

Our little cub is the self appointed prayer police in our home. Whenever food is set out he just folds his arms and waits. Sometimes Josh and I may dig in before we see that our little man is waiting patiently for the old forgetful folks to bless the food.

There is no question children are here to teach us and keep is in line. Josh and I had just sat down and were watching a movie as we ate when I look over and see our cub sitting in his high chair with his arms folded and watching me. He didn't say a word but the message came through very clearly. As soon as we said amen, or in little man's case amino, he didn't hesitate to reach for his food and join us in watching our family movie.

Blogger app has failed me.

What happened to the gratitude posts? I thought they were supposed to be a daily thing? They were, I was making posts and evidently my app was not posting them, so I have felt discouraged enough to stop. I will do a thanksgiving post to make up for it, but until my Blogger app is fixed I am afraid my posts will be sporadic.

Our little man loves to clean. Sometimes it is not the best cleaning job, but he sure likes to do his part. It is great fun to watch.

I'm grateful for the love of a boy and his dog. Someone on Facebook once wrote, "i believe in the power of a boy and his dog." I believe it too.

Gratitude

I'm feeling really grateful for music. Just watching this short video kind of gives a small taste of what joy and relief we can feel from the right kind of music. Little Jer Cub has always seemed to have a feel for rhythm he probably gets that from his grandpa David especially. Grandpa David is very talented with music! We hope our little man will be blessed with a voice that will have at least half the character and beauty as his grandpa.

Gratitude #5

These are the two greatest blessings in my life! I don't know that I could add any words that would be worthy of the blessings they have been in my life. I can't imagine how life would be without them. Family is the best thing we have in this life, and I am greatful for the wonderful one that I have.

humor again

At 0:11 you can hear our little man in his crib calling himself funny. The rest is just giggling and talking to himself. I'm so glad he knows he is funny.

Gratitude #4

Today I am very grateful for my don's sense of humor. In this video I was laying down with him and he talking and talking. I tel him I love him and he loves it. It was dark so can't actually see anything, but his voice and giggles are priceless.

Gratitude #3

Our little cub has had time with his cousins this week. This time has reminded me how grateful I am for the small town we live in and how close we have family. Knowing our little man has loving cousins to count on is certainly a blessing I do not take for granted.
J-dawg just brought a book to his cousin and loved to have it read to him. When we went trick or treating on Monday one lady handed an extra piece if candy to one of them and said "do you want an extra piece for your little brother?" And the quick reply was, "I wish he was my brother!"

Growing Up Too Fast.

Our little man got ready for a bath all by homework today. It was the first time we let him. We are reaching a little more independence everyday. It is crazy. He is so proud of himself.

Gratitude for Gratis

Today I am very grateful for a love that our little cub has for reading. I take him to the library and it is never a fun experience, but when we come home and he just goes over the books several times a day it makes it worth it. This week the book he adored and wanted read to him many times a day is Best Baby Ever. Before bed he would want it read a minimum of 4 times.
Being in the USA we are truly blessed! The things we have available to us are amazing and innumerable, simply because we had founding fathers who were directed by the very hand of God. The simplest thing as a library is one of the many things that is available to us free of charge, that is nothing short of a blessing.

Animal Wrangler

Being that is now November I think it is time to be especially grateful. So I will be posting something I am grateful everyday. To start it all off of course I am grateful for our little Jer cub and all the joy he brings us. It sounds so repetitive but he has been one of the greatest blessings in our home.
Our little J-dawg helped me do the chores this week. We have a cat who is especially sweet and Jerron loves to hold him. Even when he wants to get away he is very calm and this is a picture of Jerron just loving on him. At one point Ponce, the cat, got away and Jerron took off after him while giggling the entire time. He has such a fun and easy going demeanor, except for the occasions when he doesn't.

Church Tricks

On Sunday our boy went to sacrament meeting for the first time in months and we stayed in the foyer. He was walking around and realized someone was talking and not just anyone. There was a voice coming from the ceiling! He would stop and stare at the speakers trying to figure out how he was hearing a voice with no body to go with it. He lasted 30 minutes before his Gommy took him to her house for a nap.
It is so great to watch him figure things out, although I wish he wouldn't do it so quickly. He just looks like a little man in his church outfit. He loves to wear nice clothes, you think I'm joking, and I wish I was. When he puts his clothes on they have to be in the correct order or her gets upset! He is such a blast, and exhausting blast. Kind of like a full day of Disneyland.

Jumpy Funny Jerron

I forgot to have an entry 2 days ago. The great thing that made me laugh is while I was reading books to our little cub just before bed he decided it was time to jump, jump, jump, jump. He would stand on his training potty and then jump off. It was great fun, even for me to watch. He is such a busy little man. I was shampooing the carpet in his room and whenever I clean he wants to help, so he brought the floor vacuum to me and wanted to plug it in. He is a handy little man! He helped me carry the water for all the animals and even fed the rabbits.

wake up Moe

Our little man has been having sleeping issues the last couple days. This morning I heard him at 4 am. What a glorious way to wake. I think I was able to go back to sleep an hour or so later. At least yesterday when he woke at 4 am I went to check on him and I heard him say, "Moe." That is his name for me, he went right back to sleep after I adjusted his blanket and patted his back.

Time to get moving!

Today was one of those long days that Jerron just ads flavor to. It started out with pancakes with daddy and Handy Manny. Then it was nap time after some serious playing and running and jumping and crying. I took Jerron into his room and immediately he began crying and squirming, he has learned avoid hitting mom in the face as in the past that just led to bed and a closed door. I sang to the crying boy, I rocked him, I read to him with no change in demeanor and then daddy walks in and as soon as he is in his arms the crying stops. He was asleep soon after and without another sound, I think this would be the perfect example of how Good Cop, Bad Cop works.
I was busy running around all day helping with my mom's new office, figuring out little details, returning things blah blah blah. I came home and Josh was up with Jerron so daddy went to bed and I took Jerron to the library. The library is such a thrill for Jerron because they have a water fountain, you know the kind you hope your kids won't see because there isn't enough water pressure to shoot the water more than 2 inches, so they end up licking the fountain... The very thought begins to make my stomach curl. The fountain is Jerron's favorite things because there is a fun little step stool he can move so he can have fun without any assistance, and he prefers it that way. Jerron was a terror almost the whole time, it was very hard to get books for him, but he made really good friends with a few kids that were there who were atleast 4 years older than him. He would follow them everywhere, which just added to the difficulty of the visit.
When we came home our little janitor took it upon himself to clean up the garage. He found a broom and he was sweeping the garage as I was cooking dinner. He only tried to ride our big bikes twice and only once did he push them over. Then I notice that one of the cats has made himself very comfortable in a box with padding in it, Jerron noticed this at about the same time. At this point the broom transformed into a prod and he began jabbing the cat. The cat would meow and Jerron would burst out laughing. I can only imagine what was going through his mind and what is motivation was for bugging the poor patient animal, probably was sick of him just laying there when there was so much cleaning to be done.
Just before bed Gommy came over to drop off some paperwork and Jerron was in great form. He would run through the house, lay on the cat, dance, grab books, or whatever. He found the sun bed we bought for him when he was an infant and he would climb in and then insist I zip it up so he could lay in there while I read to him. He does so thoroughly entertain all of us, including himself. During dinner he discover the awesome reaction his body make when he sticks the fork too far down his throat, he would just make himself gag then just giggle. Where did this come from?
Last night he played with Harli, and so today we were talking to him about it. At one point we said, "would you want a little sister to play with?" His response was a quick, "no." So we said "a sister you could play with like Harli?" At the sound of this he jumped up and started repeating his version of Harli as he ran to the door. He just cried when we said we weren't going to her house. He loves his buddy and pal!
It is so awesome to have family close by. I could not over emphasize the importance of family. We are so truly lucky! Just this weekend we were able to upgrade some of our furniture when we picked up some of my Aunt Joy's furniture from Uncle Wayne and Aunt Ginger, and we are so grateful. Family makes the world go round, especially when we can be so generous with one another!

Naked little sheriff

Jerron slept at Gommy's house and woke up pretty early. When I went to get him out of the port a crib I was a bit surprised to find a little happy man that had thrown all his clothes on the floor, and even his used diaper. Not only was he in the nude but happy to be so. Luckily for Jerron there were no diapers upstairs so he was able to run around in the buff for awhile as I found a new package of diapers.
He found a squash that Gommy was so excited to get, it is the perfect football size, so he loved throwing it around the kitchen.
After eating and running around Jerron's 11 year old cousin went upstairs and started talking to Jerron through a heat vent and Jerron could not figure out where the voice was coming from. He would look behind the wood stove, in the utility room and then he would laugh as he realized he could not find him.
Jerron found the toy gun and Gommy put a new holster on his hip and he walked around like the new sheriff in town.
Now he is down in the basement with Papa watching football. He is a true boy.

Jerron loves his Gommy

Today I went to a funeral with Gommy. When it was over she came over to see Jerron. I was telling her the night before about this cute book from the library that Jerron likes called Grandma Calls Me Gigglepie. He was being wild and crazy when we came in so I suggested he go get that book and bring it to Gommy. He ran and picked up the book off his floor and ran it back to Gommy. He settled right down and sat on the couch next to her as she read the book. When she finished he put the book back in her hand gave a firm grunt, so she read of again. Again she finished the book and again he put it back in front of her face and grunted, and he was so happy to have it read to him yet again. He loves his books and he loves to snuggle with Gommy as she reads him his favorite book.
Later tonight I had some down time.with Jerron while daddy was at scouts. So I pulled out a puzzle I had just bought from a thrift store, I put it on the table and it wasn't long before Jerron was interested. If you think puzzles are easy then I highly suggest trying to do one with a toddler. He waited until I had the border all together then he would grab pieces, but at least he kept them on the table. I handed him a baby puzzle I picked up for him and I was surprised it kept him entertained as long as it did. It wasn't long before he found a pen to write on the table with also. Then he just walked up to me and put his arms up, who can resist that face? So he sat on my lap and "helped" put together the 350 piece puzzle.
It sure is a blast to watch him grow, and even better to see that he will go to lengths to get attention because he just loves to spend time with his mama. We are so blessed to have such a thriving boy!

Mr Independant.

Tonight Jerron and I had planned to visit a vigil for Rose, a second grandma to my family since before I can remember. It was an opportunity to celebrate a good soul who had influenced me from the beginning. Rose was one of the only people who told my mom she would be having a girl when she was pregnant with me almost 30 years ago.
Josh needed to catch up on sleep so I figured Jerron and I would he fine going by ourselves and hearing my mom give a tribute. Just before we were about to leave I started dressing Jerron in his Sunday best. I made the dumb mistake of trying to put the pants on first, luckily Jerron was with the program and let me know that would not be allowed. After he had his shirt and vest on then it was time to put the pants, sock and shoes on. It is becoming evident that Jerron has a preference of how things should be done. We made it to the church but Jerron was way too tired to stay for the service so we come home just as it was going to start.
Upon arrival at home I immediately took Jerron to his room, where he made it abundantly clear that his preferences would not be ignored. He had grown very fond of his new dark socks and dress shoes. When I tried to remove the shoes a riot ensued! for 10 minutes we were wrestling. I first had to replace the dress slacks with flannel bottoms, and I think this is where the communication really broke down. I was in such a hurry to get the pajamas on that I forgot to put a night diaper on, and this is a problem! Trying to get a diaper changed while keeping the pajamas on is a trick in itself, but when there are a pair of small Hercules empowered hands grasping onto the ankles of said pajamas and pulling them up, this adds a great deal of difficulty. Finally the wailing and gnashing of teeth subsided after I somehow managed to exchange the diapers and get the little man back on his feet. It took some effort on my part not to burst out laughing in the middle of these struggles. When it was lights out his strong arms flew up for me to hold him and there was not a peep when I had finished singing our songs and tucked him into bed.
There were several moments today when I stopped to live in the moment. I watched Jerron warm up to a young man the moment he saw him and even let him carry him around a bit, and then watch him when another boy who was about 15 months old try to hug him, Jerron still refuses to hug anyone beside his cousin and pal Harli. This little man has his own agenda and everyday we are figuring it out more and more.

In the picture you will see we all went away winners as Jerron as able to sleep, quite soundly, in his dark socks and dress shoes.

Daily memorable entries

The other day I was sitting with my mom and I caught myself saying, "what was it that Jerron did today that I was going to tell you?" I thought it is so Funny to ask people what it is that they have not heard yet, and then it occurred to me that unknowingly everyday I was looking for a story I could share. Isn't that what life is about, is enjoying it and savoring those moments we will never have again. With that in mind I have decided that everyday I will blog something about that day, whether it is funny, entertaining, challenging, etc.
The memorable moment I caught myself living in today was while Jerron and I were running our weekly Tuesday morning errands. We had just come out of a store and we were about to head to one more store before the need for a nap became too obvious of Jerron. I picked up Jerron to put him in his car seat and I noticed be put his head on my shoulder. I caught myself next to my car, in a busy parking lot just standing there hugging this little man. I had been in a hurry because having a tired boy while doing errands is a special form of torture, but all of a sudden it did not matter. This little man will be big and talking all too soon, I loved every second that he just snuggled against me whispering his little jargon to me.
Moments like this are the very reason I started this new theme.

spring is happening in our home!

A couple weeks ago we went to the local co-op to look for boots for my boys. While Josh was looking at the boots Jerron disappeared for a split second, and when it took more than 100 seconds to find him I was starting to feel adrenaline kick in. Quickly I ran to the area where they keep the animals and sure enough there was my farming boy staring at the new chicks. We took some time to let him enjoy them and then we decided to pull out a bunny. This boys has grown up with fuzzy animals all around him, but when he saw these bunnies his face really lit up. It didn't take long before we decided rabbits would be a fun animal to have around and Easter would be perfect timing. So we picked up 2 Rex bunnies that are 6 weeks old, I really wanted lop ear but couldn't find them. A week later a lady I took photos for gave me a call to tell me she had some lop ear rabbits and giants, which get up to 30 lbs! She ended up giving us a 6 month old lop ear and I think Josh fell in love with the area of Elmo.
This is when Spring really started to kick in at our house! I went to check out some chicken coops and the guy had some kittens, so I picked one up for my niece's birthday, then I ended up bringing 2 of them home because I remembered how loud kittens are when they are alone. This is how we ended up with 2 kittens when we moved to Price 2 years ago. Then a day later 6 eggs hatched and the chicks were brought to us. So in our garage and basement we had 11 babies. This time of year really reminds me of all the time I spent at my grandpa's farm over 20 years ago. It was such a long time ago, but I have such fond memories.
The joy that lights up in Jerron when he sees these Animals just reassures that he was named after the right man. For those of you who do not know we were positive what we would named Jerron until he was a few hours old. We had decided we wanted to give all of our children J names and I loved the named Daiden, so we decided early on that we would name him Jayden. During my 5th month of pregnancy we found out that is the second most popular name so we decided not to go that route. Long story short my family has a history of passing down names as middle names, we decided to stick with Josh's family tradition of passing on his middle name. One day I was thinking about my grandpa Ferron and how he had accomplished much in his life and he had a good heart, many qualities I wanted passed down to our son, so we changed it just a little and that is how Jerron got his name.
My grandpa Ferron was a farmer and businessman. He ran a successful auto part store. His name is still pretty well known in Carbon County among those who grew up here, although he passed away 20 years ago. He was a cowboy, the real kind. He always had animals. He was a down to earth type of guy who seemed to live the words of the book "How to Win Friends and Influence People" everyday.
Seeing Jerron's interest in these animals gives me hope that he will follow in his great-grandpa's footsteps some day. Not to mention the Gardner half smile he likes to flash when he is being naughty and funny.
It really is a great time of year! This is My favorite season for sure. The kittens are gone now, but Josh really liked one of them so I have a feeling he will be coming back to stay. I really am blessed to have some wonderful men and boys in my life. The two I live with are the best, and there are even more I am lucky enough to count as family and friends who make this world better just by being in it. This time of year how could I not reflect on the biggest influence, my saviour. It is amazing the things that he has done for my individually, and still continues to do. We are so blessed in so many ways. I could not express the importance of this season in words, how every single thing reflects some part of the atonement and gospel. I am really grateful for the life I have chosen and been given, it is undeniable that someone is looking out for us.

vacations and the work it takes.

Josh really needed a break from work, so we went out to visit his mom and step dad in Colorado for the last week in February. We drove out there and Jerron did pretty well. Our little Chihuahua Toby had a hard time staying in one spot, even with the sedative we gave him, in fact he was kind of like a mean drunk. If the sun moved from where he was laying he would crawl over the seat and lay on Brutis, who did not appreciate it but did nothing more than give him a growl once in a while. Brutis did not need a sedative because he doesn't move much anyway. We learned our lesson though, Toby does not do well on sedative, he did much better on the way back without any.
The first day we were there Jerron was able to stay at grandma and grandpa's house with grandma while Josh, Scott and I went had Pedicures. It was my first ever and it was pretty cool, the man who did mine knew Paula and was very nice, he lit up when he realized who josh was because Paula must have been talking about him, he said, "oh, you're the son that is moving out here." Not quite, but at least we know that is what Paula would like. Ha ha. Then Joshua and I had a couples massage, which was nice.
Scott said later that night, "the electronics must know when someone who knows how to work with them, because they just get nervous and stop working." By the end of the trip we had replaced one tv, 2 laptops, their surround sound system, their modem and router, and installed a new Blu-Ray player. It was pretty to pick out some awesome stuff for them and they were pretty impressed with the new toys, especially the surround sound and Blu-Ray.
I thought Jerron was coming down with another ear infection on what was originally going to be our last day, thankfully it turned out he was just teething. The last full day we were there I ended up having food poisoning or something, drank some hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting, that was horrid. Never want to do that again.
It was really fun to see Jerron play with his aunts and uncles. It is so funny because they seem more like cousins because of the age differences. He really enjoyed when the music therapist came over and he was able to play the drums and everything. Between the music session and the play room we aren't sure he loved the most.
The dogs loved the attention! Toby made really good buddies with Kamar. This was surprising because Kamar does not usually like animals, but he loved to follow Toby and hug him. I did do photo shoots for all the kids, and the dogs ended up being in a few with them.
Now we are back to normal life, it is hard to adjust back. My least favorite part is the packing and unpacking. But it was worth it. Josh needed the break and he was able to pick up a few massage techniques he wants to incorporate in his practice.
We are happy to announce that Josh will be taking his nationals so he will be able to finally do a massage business in Utah. He travels to home to get massages in the comfort of your own home, making it more convenient and saving you from arranging for care for your child while you get a massage. We have decided on the name Balance Touch Massage. We are still working on a motto, so if you have suggestions feel free to shoot them our way.
Jerron is working on his little vocabulary, but so far does not week too worried about it. He can now say mama, dada, daddy, cool, no, yeah, and other words that no one else would understand but his mama. He likes to make monkey sounds and growling like a bear. He loves to pet his animals and especially loves when Toby will play ball with him.
This Jerron is such a joy in our lives! Never could I have imagined the love I feel for this little man. It still amazes me to look at him and try to comprehend that we created him, and it is hard to imagine life without him. We are just so grateful for him and the ways he has enhanced our lives. He truly is a gift from god.
We have been very blessed with so many things. To have a steady income, health coverage, a home, animals, family, friends and the gospel are such great blessings we hope we will always appreciate them.

Jerron's Year Check-up

.So we finally had Jerron's one year check, now that he is 13 months. His ears are fine and as far as development in every area he is above average or right on track. I was especially happy to hear that he is no longer in the 10% for height. At 29" and 23 pounds he is right on track.
The only concern the Dr had is with a heart murmur. He noticed it last check up but thought it would heal. It has not improved, but it may not be a big deal. When I was 18 I had a physical and I was told I had a heart murmur, but it was nothing to be concerned about, we are hoping Jerron is the same way. To be safe the Dr has ordered a cheat x ray and an ekg. We will be having that done this week at the hospital. Times like these I am very grateful for insurance!
I didn't think too much of it at first. But the longer I have to think about it the more concerned I become. I have faith that it won't be a big deal, mostly because he is developing really well, he isn't behind in any area. But to be on the safe side I am making friends and family to pray or meditate or just put out good vibes towards our sweet boy.
While you are at it if you could do the same for my 14 year old nephew that would be great. When he was 6 months old my sister gave part of her liver to him and he has been doing so well! This week he has been sick and they have taken him off his anti rejection medicine. My sister feels assured that he will be just fine, but good thoughts and prayers never hurt.
Times like these I am so grateful for family, friends, technology, God and science. It is amazing to me the things we are able to cure or treat today that we could not do just a decade ago.

It Won't Be Like This For Long

So Jerron woke up talking and laughing, that is when you can tell he is feeling all better. 2 weeks ago I had this dream that Jerron had an ear infection that was growing corn out of his ear. It was disturbing. When I woke up I realized he had been whining lately and I knew there was something to the dream, we saw the Dr later that day and indeed he did have an infection. Funny how the mind works that this is how it became a conscious thought.
2 weeks later I am so glad to have my little angel back. He is running around the house snuggling the animals, laughing, dancing and chatting.
Josh is in the process of following his dream to do massage as a career. He is very excited and it seems things are just coming together. Today I realized Jerron was being quiet, and I knew what he was doing. I go in the kitchen to find him experimenting with possible business ideas for his dad. If josh decides to do a spa Jerron will be in charge of giving Dog Water Pedicures. This may be an up and coming treatment so sign up early.
He gave himself a treatment with his footy pajamas still on we headed to the tub. I turned on the ipod and danced with Jerron to the song It Won't Be Like This Forever. It has been a long time since I heard that song but it really helped me to appreciate the humor in the situation even more. It blows me away that Jerron is now 13 months old. It is pretty easy to enjoy every moment with this little guy, he has such a personality.
This year I am going to be better at keeping a journal and recording Jerron. He enjoys watching himself on the tv, as I was transferring some tapes he just watched himself as a baby.
Life is beyond good. If I was given the choice to change something in my life I am not quite sure what that would be. We have so much to be grateful for and to look forward to.
I adore the men in my life!

Jerron discovers jello

Jerron laughed at this jello for probably 20 minutes before I recorded this, but when I pulled out the camera he would only give me a giggle...

life's little twists

This week I have been thinking so much about all the little things that make up a life. There are so many tiny details that make life significant, whether for good or bad. The small act of answering an email led me to meet my husband, and from millions of tiny decisions came a life that now includes Josh, Jaclyn and Jerron living on a little farm.
I feel very blessed for the many lessons I have learned in this life, including hard lessons that help me to appreciate the man I am married to. 10 years ago I never would have guessed where I would be today, now would I have said that this life would be completely perfect for me. This is the amazing part though, it really is a unknown dream come true. I would not wish for more or less than what we have been blessed with.
This week we finally child proofed our kitchen from our son. It has been very frustrating for him to not be able to get in the tool drawers, although he truly has no idea what to do with the tools, he just wants them. He will pull and pull at a drawer and then scream, because the poor kid inherited the worst parts of the tempers from both of his parents. As I watched him, with satisfaction and even a little amusement, I realized this is exactly what we do most of our lives if we do not pay attention. The things that are not available to us now can be a source of frustration, even though we often we wouldn't know how to properly use those things that we want even if we had them. Often we need to learn to perfectly use the appropriate tools at our disposal so that we can better use other ones as we graduate.
I am just really grateful for all that we have. I am also very grateful that we do not get caught up in the game of feeling like we are in a competition with others. Who has the bigger home? Who has the bigger tv? Who has more income? Who has the Cutest kid? Well we know the answer to the last question, but don't feel bad, Jerron can't help how cute he is.
I just hope that everyone can find more things in their life that they are grateful for. Whether it is that they are happy they have money to pay the mortgage, or there is someone to clean up after who leaves them little reminders that they do not live alone. I find it is in these times of uncertainty that we must look for blessings so that we do not fall victim to ingratitude, for it is the greatest disease in the world.
